MEET YOUR TEACHER
I´m Tuomas Rauhala, a musician and drum teacher from Finland. I have been working as a musician and artist full-time for over ten years. I have also worked as a composer and arranger and performed in over 20 countries. I have been playing drums for almost 30 years and I want to help everyone to become a better player. My long experience and passion for music and drumming will give you the tools to avoid many pitfalls.
A brief story about my own path from beginner to professional drummer...
I started playing the drums at the age of 9. At the beginning of my studies, the focus was on classical percussion. I discovered jazz, rock and metal very soon after starting my studies, which are still my musical passion. After graduating from Kaustinen College Of Music at the age of 19, I moved to Helsinki. In Helsinki I studied drumming at the Helsinki Pop/Jazz Conservatory and at the Metropolia University of Applied Sciences.
I have performed with numerous artists and bands such as For The Imperium, Mikael Gabriel, Kasmir, Redrama, Anna Abreu, Waltteri Torikka, Saara Aalto, Laura Voutilainen, Poets Of The Fall, Grand Discovery, John Patitucci, Paul Gilbert and Andre Nieri. I have also played drums in 3 seasons of the TV show PUTOUS.
I founded HAHTO & RAUHALA DRUM CAMP with my friend Kai Hahto in 2022.
